The MTA announced a bunch of new projects that will revolutionize transportation around New York City and its surrounding boroughs.
More than $27 billion (with a B) for new subway cars, a refurbished LaGuardia Airport, a system to replace MetroCards, and a streetcar system to connect Brookly and Queens residents are being discussed.
And I am surprisingly fine with all of it.
Hate crimes are on the rise 35 percent on mass transit in NYC since the election.
I witnessed a possible incident this past week.
Yet it did not draw any discernible reaction from commuters.
Are we all hardened to the treatment of our fellow man, or are we just hardended in our resolve to be left alone as we transport ourselves?
Don't call them by the buzzword-friendly "alt-right."
They are the second coming of the American Nazi party, and they are emboldened by the Republican victories. Since the GOP leadership refuses to repudiate their existence and verbiage, they are coming for their enemies – when indeed they are the enemies of Democracy.

President-Elect Donald Trump is not having an easy time.
Well, who knows what he expected. But it's no cakewalk.
And the band of family and sycophants that have been surrounding him are in-fighting like cats and dogs, desperately scratching to profit and remain in the mix.
Who loses? That's obvious – the American citizen, who voted for him or for any candidate. As well as the 48 percent of the American public that chose NOT to vote this year.
