MrJeff2000 Explains It All It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad, um what was I talking about again?

April 1 has meant one thing to me for more than 25 years – the chance to publish something goofy and silly, but still with a little bite. I've been fortunate to be employed by a company that has let me do an April Fools edition every year (sometimes by the skin of my teeth).

This year will be no different, except this marks the 25th (or 26th) edition. So I'm going to take an extended look back that may take me all the way into April.

It's cold and flu season, which means a lot of hacking and coughing.

It also means a lot of snow, which translated into plowing and traffic issues.

Did you know that a company in New York cannot deduct a shortage from a worker's paycheck or demand that they pay it from their own pocket?

Well, it is a right-to-work state, or if you are not a union member, they could summarily fire you for not making good on a shortage.

But this is not something I knew about 30 years ago. When I had a similar situation occur.
