MrJeff2000 Explains It All

It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad, um what was I talking about again?

Tribute: Jon Aubrey

It's been two years since my friend Jon Aubrey died, and I'd like to share a few thoughts, stories, and one of our favorite original recorded comedy bits.

Fall Ball Fail

My younger son is playing less-competitive "fall ball" this September and October. I'm not coaching, just assisting from the sidelines when needed. And I made a lapse in judgment this past weekend that's been weighing on my mind.

Summer Vacation, Part 3

The final two days with the kids, and some solo adventures during the week.

Summer Vacation, Part 2

Part two of my summer vacation covers an entire 24-hour period (Friday, August 23, 2019). Sorry but that's all I can say here.

Summer Vacation, Part 1

I finally got around to talking about my summer vacation. Well, at least the first to days of it.

As well as an annoying call with someone who wanted to donate books in the most inconvenient manner possible.

King of Books

Larry King used to do no prep work for his television show, which was a slap in the face to broadcasters who cared about providing viewers with interesting and insightful conversation. He also did a newspaper column that used ellipses to divide his fragmented, pointless points. I'm using a similar tact to cover two different topics this week.

Amtraking

Amtrak is expected to turn its first profit since incorporating in 1971.

There's a lot of history behind the railway system.

I manage to bungle through some of it this time around.

It’s My Birthday (Reprise)

On vacation this week, so here's the podcast from April 2017:

It was my birthday this past week. Thanks for asking. I spent the day with my sons, and reflected on how I chose the activities we embarked upon.

Where’s My Umbrella

I try to be a good tenant. And I help the landlady hire people for home repairs, among other things. But two of my umbrellas disappeared this week. And I'm mildly miffed.

Sunday PM update: Nice big blue umbrella and smaller one are both back!

Peak!

Peak TV means you can never watch everything – there's always too much.

But I was watching back when there were three networks, and I didn't even know that.
